Animal Rescue is an organisation that also helps kids learn about animals. We believe that it’s not cool to abuse them in any way. If pets could talk, what would they say? Maybe “Fur is for petting, backs are for scratching, noses are for nuzzling . . . and tails are not for pulling!” Children and pets belong together – as long as children don’t chase, grab, squeeze, yank, and tease.
Animals are our friends, and we are doing everything we can to make the world a better place for them. Our furry animal companions are our best friends, and we owe it to them to make sure that their lives are as happy and comfortable as they can possibly be. But for every lucky animal who has a comfortable home, nutritious food, and a loving guardian like you, countless other animals are suffering at the hands of incompetent or abusive people, are struggling to survive on the streets, or are waiting in animal rescues for a good home.
Choosing to have a companion animal in your life is a big responsibility and a lifelong commitment. Most companion animals are fully dependent on humans for their quality of life. It is important to ensure you and your family can properly care for a companion animal and understand all of their needs before you adopt them into your family.
Companion animals don’t just need food and water, they need appropriate shelter and living space, regular veterinarian check-ups and preventative vet care to ensure they remain happy and healthy. Just as importantly, your companion animal needs you: your time, love and attention. Many companion animals need mental stimulation and regular exercise to prevent them from becoming bored or overweight as well. Find out information on animals and how to care for them.
